Getting to Global (GtG)

Getting to Global (GtG) is a transformational public-private partnership that brings together industry experts, business leaders and government officials to empower U.S. small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to sell more online, overseas.

Through its deep collaboration with industries including Google, the Small Business Administration, and industry associations, GtG curates government resources and the best-in-class industry data, tools and insights to provide U.S. SME exporters with an accessible and actionable eco-system to fast track their export growth.

Getting to Global publishes weekly video interviews and blog posts showcasing straight-talking insights and best-practices in online global strategy from leading retailers, branded suppliers and industry experts. GtG also houses global ecommerce coursework, export tools, a service provider list, USG services and an events calendar.

Department of Commerce

The U.S. Department of Commerce houses the International Trade Administration (ITA) which focuses on strengthening the competitiveness of U.S. industry, promoting trade and investment, and ensuring fair trade through the rigorous enforcement of our trade laws and agreements.

ITA works to improve the global business environment and helps U.S. organizations compete at home and abroad. Google and ITA have partnered to help U.S. businesses participate in the digital economy and enhance their ability to export to global markets by using digital tools.

ITA provides ecommerce training tools, exporting basics training, international market expertise, and ecommerce sales opportunities to help small businesses export through ecommerce channels. With over 100 locations in communities across the country, small businesses can also receive in-person support and access to ITA’s global network of trade professionals.
